About
My story
My business career has always been in wine and I value the people I have met over the years, the friends I have made, the places I have visited - from Argentina to Japan - and the many wines I have tasted and appreciated. In 1991 I passed the rigorous Master of Wine qualification and have always felt proud of my achievements and the experience and expertise I can offer. But I have also always enjoyed the mentoring aspect of work and seeing colleagues grow and develop.
Several years ago I wanted to take my mentoring a step further and trained to be a coach but it was when I encountered the Thinking Environment that I realised I had found a way of 'being' that resonated profoundly with me. The experience of being listened to — truly listened to — changed the quality of my thinking in ways I hadn't thought possible. I qualified as a Time To Think coach in 2024 because I wanted to offer that freedom to others.
I work with women who are navigating change or simply feel stuck; women who are contemplating a career pivot or a crossroads in their personal life. My role is not to guide you towards my answers, but to create the conditions in which you can find your own.
The methodology
Time to Think is a philosophy and a practice developed by Nancy Kline, author of Time to Think and More Time to Think. At its heart is a deceptively simple idea: the quality of your attention determines the quality of another person's thinking.
Most of us have rarely — if ever — been given the experience of being listened to without interruption, without the other person waiting to speak, without advice or redirection. Time to Think creates exactly that experience, and the results are remarkable.
When people are given genuine, unhurried attention, their thinking goes further than it would alone. They find clarity they didn't know they had. They arrive at insights that no amount of advice could have produced — because those insights belong to them.
This is not a passive process. The attention itself is active, generative, and deeply respectful of the thinker's own intelligence. It is one of the most powerful gifts one person can offer another.
My philosophy
I believe that most people, given the right conditions, are capable of extraordinary thinking
My role as a coach is not to be the expert on your life. It is to be genuinely, unhurriedly present with you — to hold a quality of attention that allows your own thinking to go further than it could alone.
I work with people who are ready to think — who sense that something needs to shift
"The human mind, in the presence of a thinking environment, will go to places it has never been — and find things it did not know it knew."
If something here has resonated, I'd love to hear from you. Get in touch to ask a question or simply to start a conversation.
